Who We Are
Policy Research Group, POREG for short, started its journey in 2008 as an independent enterprise to look at today and tomorrow of Asia and to offer an Asian perspective.
Now after a decade of churning out insights into Asia, particularly South Asia, POREG has decided to shift gears to focus exclusively on China, which today dominates Asia-Pacific and beyond. Our in-house teams of strategic analysts will offer week after week their considered views on China’s power play not only on the diplomatic front but also on its ups and downs in its quest for economic nirvana at home and abroad.
How different Poreg will be from the China centric think tanks in the land of El’ Dorado? Well, we will be different because of our yawning urge to hold the mirror slightly differently, a little away from the conventional, to get an insight that often gets lost in the mundane pursuit of the most obvious. Poreg has brought together people from diverse backgrounds to offer local flavour and what not in the only way they alone can – objectively, sincerely, honestly and above all convincingly.
Like in the past, from now on also Poreg will continues to look at the globalised village. The band of journalists dominating Poreg have a craving to go behind the news for weaving a comprehensive and insightful perspective that is welcome both to the egghead and the layman. Hard, field based investigation will remain our core strength as we bring forth our expertise to bear on the unfolding events.
Poreg is open to publish commentaries from subject specialists and analysts. There are no guidelines as such for writing to us. Only a convincing analysis/ argument/ or rebuttal of a generally held view in a logical and coherent way only matter. Our editorial team takes about a week at the best to give the go-ahead for publication of an unsolicited commentary/opinion piece.
